Transaldolase 2b
EN
Transaldolase is an enzyme in the pentose-phosphate pathway. It catalyzes the following reaction: D-sedoheptulose 7-phosphate + D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate = D-erythrose 4-phosphate + beta-D-fructose 6-phosphate. Knocking-out the gene results in lower formation of lignin and higher cellulose content in the cell wall, resulting in an overall different composition of the wood biomass.
