Brief description of the document including objective and scope

This Regulation applies to plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques, namely targeted mutagenesis and cisgenesis (‘NGT plants’), and their food and feed. It lays down specific rules for the deliberate release into the environment, for any purpose other than placing on the market, of such plants and for the placing on the market of such food and feed and other relevant products.
