The National Biosafety Management Agency Agency(NBMA) was established by the NBMA Act of 2015 and charged with the responsibility for providing regulatory framework, institutional and administrative mechanism for safety measures in the application of modern biotechnology in Nigeria. The Agency is equipped with a national laboratory for the detection and identification of LMOs and has recorded a number of decisions since inception.So far, the NBMA has nine Biosafety experts, two national websites and three National Focal Points
