After reviewing the technical dossier provided by the applicant, the Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP), the Bureau of Plant Industry Plant Products Safety Services Division (BPI-PPSSD), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Biosafety Committee (DENR-BC), and the Department of Health Biosafety Committee (DOH-BC) concurred that MON 87427 × MON 89034 × TC1507 × MON 88017 × DAS-59122-7 is as safe as its conventional counterpart and shall not pose any significant risks to humans, animals, the environment and biodiversity.
The gene products, CP4 EPSPS, Cry1A.105, Cry2Ab2, Cry1F, Cry3Bb1, Cry34/35Ab1 and PAT, expressed by the multi-stack corn line may pose allergenic or toxic risks. These novel proteins may also interact in the same metabolic pathway such that an unintended adverse effect is created.
The novel proteins have been shown to have distinct modes of action. In addition, there is no known mechanism of interaction among these proteins that could lead to adverse effects in humans or animals.
Scientific evidence from toxicity studies and references showed that the regulated article will not cause significant adverse health effects to humans and animals. Likewise, allergenic effects from dietary exposure to the regulated article is unlikely. The regulated article is also not materially different in nutritional composition from that of its conventional counterpart.
In consideration of the unlikely probability of interaction among the novel proteins and the absence of allergenic or toxic characteristics of these proteins, the assessors concluded that Corn MON 87427 × MON 89034 × TC1507 × MON 88017 × DAS-59122-77 does not pose risks to human and animal health, and to the environment.
The assessors recommended the approval and issuance of a biosafety permit for direct use as food and feed, or for processing of Corn MON 87427 × MON 89034 × TC1507 × MON 88017 × DAS-59122-77.

After a comprehensive review and evaluation of the documents including the submitted scientific evidence from references and literature, the DENR-BC has concluded that Corn MON 87427 × MON 89034 × TC1507 × MON 88017 × DAS-59122-7 will not pose any significant adverse effects to the environment and biodiversity.
The quantitative event-specific PCR detection methods are those individually validated for genetically modified maize MON 87427, MON 89034, 1507, MON 88017 and 59122 and further verified on maize stack MON 87427 × MON 89034 × TC1507 × MON 88017 × DAS-59122-7.
