A genetically engineered herd of transgenic goats producing human lactoferrin has been registered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. The decision is based on the decision of the Expert Council for the Safety of Genetically Engineered Organisms of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus according which a herd of transgenic goats should be kept in a controlled environment that prevents the exchange of genetic material with non-transgenic individuals.
