RSS collaborates with European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC), and organized jointly the "1st International Workshop on Harmonization of GMO Detection and Analysis in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region" which was held at the Dead Sea in 2012. Also, RSS has participated in several plenary meetings of the European Network of GMO Laboratories (ENGL) as an observer of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
On the other hand, RSS prepared a study for analyzing the situation of biotech laboratory infrastructure, equipment and facilities in Jordan and the criteria for the selection of reference laboratories; the study was submitted to the Jordanian Ministry of Environment. In addition, RSS is currently preparing a national policy paper, strategy and action plan for biosafety and is involved in preparing a biosafety law in Jordan in coordination with different national institutions.
