Brassica napus modified for reduced sinapine content (pLH7000-SGT/SCT)
EN
pLH7000-SGT/SCT (line 1505.1d)
No
In the GM oilseed rape plants that were transformed using the construct pLH7000-SGT/SCT, the activity of the native oilseed rape enzymes UDP-glucose:sinapate glucosyltransferase (SGT) and sinapoylglucose:choline sinapoyltransferase (SCT) was reduced with the help of an RNAi construct. In oilseed rape plants UDP-glucose:sinapate glucosyltransferase catalyses the conversion of sinapic acid to sinapoylglucose. Sinapoylglucose:choline sinapoyl-transferase (SCT) catalyses the conversion of sinapoylglucose to sinapoyl-choline (sinapine).

By suppressing UDP-glucose:sinapate glucosyltransferase and sinapoylglucose:choline si-napoyltransferase the sinapine content in the seeds of the GM oilseed rape plants is further reduced.

The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
