Potato modified for increased gibberellin production

Potato plants were modified to constitutively express GA20-oxidase from Arabidopsis thaliana, which codes for an enzyme in the gibberellin biosynthesis pathway that converts C20-gibberellin into the physiologically active C19-gibberellin.

The constitutive expression of the GA20-oxidase leads to increased production of biologically active gibberellins in the genetically modified potato plants leading to the plants phenotypically growing to a greater height  than the control plants.
