RAEIN-Africa is a Regional Organization working on facilitating capacity building on negotiation skills, biosafety implementation, LMO testing, Public awareness creation and Public participation in southern African countries since 2001. RAEIN-Africa facilitates research, human and infrastructural capacity needs assessments at national and regional levels. Through its well established network of biosafety researchers and implementers, it facilitates experience-sharing and cross-national learning. RAEIN-Africa facilitated a regional Project Preparatory Grant (PPG) on LMO testing and is currently the Lead Executing Agency (LEA) of the "Multi-country Project to Strengthen Institutional Capacities on LMO Testing in Support of National Decision Making"(MCP-ICLT) in which Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi and Mozambique are participating.

The MCP-ICLT project led by RAEIN-Africa has six countries participating and is building LMO testing Capacity of 11 Laboratories across the six countries. RAEIN-Africa has MOUs with the six National Executing Agencies who are National Biosafety Focal Points. Each of the NEAs has MOUs with the implementing labs. These will all be posted under the NEAs and separately on BCH.
