Maize event 3272 has been genetically modified to express a thermostable α-amylase enzyme (AMY797E) for use in ethanol production from corn grain, which uses high temperatures in the production process According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the maize event 3272 is substantially equivalent to its conventional counterpart in terms of morphology, nutrition, toxicity and allergenicity.
