20th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Protocol and Reminder Review of the CBD/Aarhus Convention Pocket Guide [#10172]

Dear participants,

Twenty years ago, on 29 January 2000, Parties to the Convention on Biological
Diversity (CBD) adopted the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. The Cartagena Protocol entered into force on 11 September 2003. Please find more information in the press release at https://www.cbd.int/doc/press/2020/pr-2020-01-29-bs-en.pdf

Please also note be reminded that Parties, Governments and other stakeholders are invited to submit their comments to the draft joint Aarhus Convention/CBD pocket guide on access to information and public participation regarding LMOs as soon as possible, but not later than 1 February 2020. Comments are to be submitted to: BCH@cbd.int
