Please find some recent updates as follows:

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, a national of the United Republic of Tanzania, as the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Notification: Invitation to participate in the testing of the new Biosafety Clearing-House platform. More information is available at https://www.cbd.int/doc/notifications/2020/ntf-2020-039-bch-en.pdf?dowload

You are also invited to make a pledge or commitment on biosafety at the the Sharm El-Sheikh to Kunming Action Agenda for Nature and People for non-state actors and other stakeholders to make a pledge for the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference and beyond. The pledges and commitments will be profiled on the CBD's website, social media channels and at official meetings. The pledges will also be sorted in different categories, including an upcoming biosafety category. More information is available at https://www.cbd.int/action-agenda/
