United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, a national of the United Republic of Tanzania, as the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). You are also invited to make a pledge or commitment on biosafety at the the Sharm El-Sheikh to Kunming Action Agenda for Nature and People for non-state actors and other stakeholders to make a pledge for the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference and beyond. The pledges and commitments will be profiled on the CBD's website, social media channels and at official meetings.
