Dear Participants of the Forum,

I am pleased to welcome you to another round of follow up online discussions.

As indicated in the report of the meeting and based on our previous discussion from 30 May – 20 June on the topic of " Compilation of information and best practices on extraction procedures" a draft outline has been prepared on the topic.

This represents an update of the chapter of the training manual that the Secretariat has been preparing in response to the requests of the workshop of Network on detection and identification of LMOs. The update includes a table of different matrices and possible homogenization and extraction procedures that can be used to extract DNA from these matrices.

I would like to invite you to read the chapter it and post you comments if there is additional information that can be added to this section and share your experiences with sample preparation of different matrices.
