The stacked maize line SYN-BTØ11-1 x SYN-IR162-4 x MON-89Ø34-3 x MON-ØØØ21-9 was obtained through the traditional cross breeding of each of the parental organisms. The line inherited genes that express cry1Ab. cry1A.105, cry2Ab2, vip3Aa19, PAT, EPSPS and PMI. The expression of these genes confer glyphosate and glufosinate herbicide tolerance as well as resistance to Lepidoptera and Coleoptera.
EN
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.

DNA insert from MON89034 vector PV-ZMIR245
Maize line MON89034 expresses two Bt-toxins encoded by the genes cry1A.105 and cry2Ab2 from Bacillus thuringiensis that confer resistance against certain lepidopteran pests.
DNA insert from MIR162, vector pNOV1300:
MIR162 maize is transformed with vip3Aa20 gene which encodes the Vip3Aa20 protein that confers resistance against lepidopteran insect pests including: fall armyworm, armyworm , beet armyworm , corn earworm , black cutworm , and western bean cutworm. Event MIR162 maize also contains the manA gene from Escherichia coli, which encodes the selectable marker, phosphomannose isomerase (PMI).
DNA insert from GA21, vector pDPG434
The GA21 line of maize was genetically engineered, by particle acceleration (biolistic) transformation, to be tolerant of glyphosate-containing herbicides.
DNA insert from Bt 11 vector pZO1502
Maize produced by inserting the cry1Ab gene from Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki to confer resistance to the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis), and the phosphinothricin N-acetyltransferase (PAT) encoding gene from Streptomyces viridochromogenes to confer tolerance to phosphinothricin (PPT) herbicide, specifically glufosinate ammonium.
For additional information on this LMO, please refer to the records of the parental LMOs.
