The project aims to assist participating countries in meeting their international obligations as Parties to the CPB and towards delivering the following outcomes:
1. Measures in place for implementation of functional National Biosafety Frameworks (NBFs) in participating countries.
2. Institutional and human resource capacities developed for effective implementation of NBFs in the participating countries.
3. Information sharing and knowledge management enhanced among participating countries for increased public participation and awareness.
4. Inter-country cooperation strengthened by sustainable linkages/ networks, best practices and lessons learnt through effective project coordination.
This multi-country project aims to further build on the regional collaborative activities in Asia initiated through the interventions of Asia Biosafety Family. The project will be implemented using an incremental approach, through which achievements accrued from earlier projects will constitute the baseline for the project activities. The project will ensure balanced gender representation and participation across all levels of project implementation.
