Rice modified for Ultraviolet- B radiation resistance

No
Rice was modified with the insertion of the Cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer photolyase gene under the constitutive expression of the 35s CMV promoter. This results in increased expression of CPD photolyase and  a 45.7-fold higher CPD photolyase activity than wild-type rice and exhibits Ultraviolet-B radiation resistance.
EN
The term “Recipient organism” refers to an organism (either already modified or non-modified) that was subjected to genetic modification, whereas “Parental organisms” refers to those that were involved in cross breeding or cell fusion.
